Cherry Pie Recipe

Are you a fan of cherry pie? If so then you can give this cherry pie recipe a try. It turned out great for me!

Ingredients

  • 2 unbaked 9 inch pie shells
  • 4 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups fresh pitted cherries
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons butter

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Gather large bowl.

Step 2

In the large bowl combine tapioca, salt, sugar, cherries, and extracts.

Step 3

Let stand for 15 minutes.

Step 4

Place pie filling mixture into the pie crust.

Step 5

Cover with top crust, dot pastry with butter and press the edges together with your index finger.

Step 6

Take a fork and cut vents in the middle top of the crust. You may want to place pie on foil lined cookie sheet in case of drips.

Step 7

Bake for 50 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 8

Let cool for 20 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
